Let’s Get Married - Archie Star

unexplained-events:

Art from the book A Monster Calls written by Patrick Ness and illustrated by Jim Kay.

It’s a children’s book about a boy (Conor) who starts having nightmares about a monster every night since his mother started her cancer treatment. One night when he wakes up, there is an actual monster right outside his window. The monster is a yew tree in the cemetery behind Conor’s house during day-time but the monster we see at night. I wont go into more detail about the story because it’s really worth reading. You might want to have some tissues and ice-cream ready though.

It was inspired by Siobhan Dowd, who passed away due to cancer and could not write this book herself

In this episode of Critical Hit Cocktails, I take a look back at Akira, the incredibly influential anime and manga from the 80s. The drink is powerful, spicy, and of course red.

I feel strange tonight.

I have that feeling you get after you read an amazing book and you feel sorta empty knowing it’s over.

Maybe I’m bias because the guy I kinda adore recommended it to me, or because I absolutely love the fact that we relate and agree that Danielewski’s writings hit us both in the heart for various reasons, but whatever the case I can say this, House of Leaves is by far one of the best books I’ve ever read.

Warped Tour 2014

Bands I saw at Warped:

Third time: Paris
Second time: Yellowcard
First time: Enter Shikari, State Champs, Neck Deep, Real Friends, Four Year Strong, Bowling For Soup, Aaron West, Anthony Raneri (who I accidentally stumbled upon playing “Landing Feet First” which was absolutely magical as expected), We Are the In Crowd, For Today, Story So Far, Trophy Wives, and I’m sure a couple others I can’t remember at the moment.

Such a good time, so sore, so worth it.
